{"id":4165,"date":"2014-03-31T14:12:37","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T14:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/?p=4165"},"modified":"2014-03-31T14:12:37","modified_gmt":"2014-03-31T14:12:37","slug":"honkers-sign-left-hander-from-creighton-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/2014\/03\/31\/honkers-sign-left-hander-from-creighton-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Honkers Sign Left-Hander from Creighton University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong>(Rochester, Minn.)<\/strong><strong>&#8212; <\/strong>The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of left-handed pitcher Will Bamesberger, from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBamesberger is a 6-foot 155-pound sophomore from Grand Island, Neb.&nbsp; Currently he has made 13 appearances, pitching 8.0 innings,&nbsp;allowing five hits and striking out six.&nbsp; Opponents are only hitting .185 off him.&nbsp; The situational reliever, Bamesberger has a record of 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA for the 12-9-1 Bluejays.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAs a freshman, Bamesberger made 14 appearances, striking out seven in 6.0 innings of work.&nbsp; Opponents hit .238 against him but he held left-handed hitters to a mere .077 average.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBamesberger graduated from Grand Island High School in 2012 where he earned a combined 13 varsity letters in track (four), baseball (three), basketball (three), and football (three).&nbsp; He was a two-time team MVP in baseball, and earned all-conference first team honors in football as a senior and all-conference second team accolades in basketball as a junior.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Creighton Bluejays are scheduled to return to action this afternoon when they host UNLV for a 4:00pm start at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.&nbsp; The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).&nbsp; Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
