Native and Minnesota Golden Gopher, Jordan Smith for the 2014 season.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSmith is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound redshirt freshman outfielder.&nbsp; Currently he is hitting .242 with six RBIs, 15 walks and is two for three in stolen bases.&nbsp; Smith started the season in left field but has now been the Gophers center fielder.&nbsp; In 2013, Smith was red-shirted for the season.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSmith graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2012.&nbsp; As a senior, the team captain hit .421 with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. And was named&nbsp; a Lions All-Star selection.&nbsp; He played summer ball for the Eden Prairie Legion team and was part of the 2011 Eden Prairie American Legion National championship team.&nbsp; He&nbsp;hit .369 that summer with 18 RBIs and was also the squad&rsquo;s fourth starter in the pitching rotation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMinnesota is scheduled to play today, Wednesday, April 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, at home versus Augsburg at 3:05pm at Siebert Field, weather permitting.&nbsp; They then travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a three-game set with the Michigan Wolverines beginning on Friday.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.&nbsp; The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).&nbsp; Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
