{"id":6265,"date":"2015-03-03T15:12:01","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T15:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/?p=6265"},"modified":"2015-03-03T15:12:01","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T15:12:01","slug":"honkers-add-speedy-infielder-from-college-of-san-mateo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/2015\/03\/03\/honkers-add-speedy-infielder-from-college-of-san-mateo\/","title":{"rendered":"Honkers Add Speedy Infielder from College of San Mateo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">(Rochester, Minn.)<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>\u2014<\/b> The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of infielder Miles Mastrobuoni (Mas-tro-bo-nee) from the College of San Mateo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The 5-foot-9, 165-pound sophomore shortstop is currently hitting .250 with 2 doubles and 10 RBIs.\u00a0 He is a leading the team in at bats with 56 and also stolen bases, swiping eight of nine so far on the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">As a freshman, Mastrobuoni hit .310 with 22 RBIs and led the team with 27 stolen bases in only 39 games.\u00a0 His 56 total bases was a team high and was fourth in on-base percentage at .415.\u00a0 He was awarded first team All-Pacific Coast Golden Gate honors for his efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Mastrobuoni played for the Walnut Creek Crawdads of the California Summer Collegiate League in 2014 where he was selected to play in the All-Star Game.\u00a0 He finished his summer season hitting .292 with seven doubles and seven stolen bases. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">In high school, Mastrobuoni played for Granada High in Livermore, Calif.\u00a0 As a senior, his team finished 24-2 and finished the year No. 16 in the nation, peaking at No. 2 at one point. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Mastrobuoni has verbally committed to play for the Nevada Wolfpack for his junior season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Rochester Honkers 22nd season begins on May 26th when the Mankato MoonDogs bark into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.\u00a0 Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available. Playing its 22<sup>nd <\/sup>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (BOS) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
