Clinton Cole steps behind the mic this summer after covering the Chicago Blitz of the Continental Indoor Football League.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

(Rochester, Minn.)<\/b>— <\/b>The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today that Clinton Cole from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in Chicago, Illinois will be the team\u2019s new radio voice for the 2015 season. All 36 home and 36 away games will be broadcasted live on Sports Radio AM 1520 The Ticket, a Townsquare Media Group station.<\/p>\n

“I’m extremely excited to join the Rochester Honkers organization, and to call Northwoods League Baseball,\u201d said Cole.\u00a0 \u201cBaseball and broadcasting are my true passions and to be able to do that with the best club in\u00a0the Northwoods League is really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole has plenty of experience behind the microphone.\u00a0 He currently hosts his own show on Chicagoland Sports Radio covering Purdue Football and Basketball, as he just finished covering the Big Ten Tournament for men\u2019s basketball.\u00a0 Cole now jumps into calling games for the Chicago Blitz of the Continental Indoor Football League staring March 21st<\/sup> along with continuing his show on Chigagolandradio.com.\u00a0 Prior to becoming the voice of the Chicago Blitz in 2014, he was the color analyst for the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men\u2019s basketball team<\/p>\n

Last summer, Cole was one of three broadcasters for the Palm Springs POWER Baseball Club, a member of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League.<\/p>\n

\u201cI learned a lot in my time with Palm Springs,\u201d said Cole. \u201cI look forward to taking what I learned and applying it to the upcoming season with the Rochester Honkers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole brings a new style, experience and enthusiasm to the airwaves this summer.<\/p>\n

Cole takes over the mic from Erik Ryan Solberg, who was unable to return in 2015 due to his soccer coaching requirements at East Central University<\/p>\n

The Rochester Honkers 22nd season begins on May 26th when the Mankato MoonDogs bark into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.\u00a0 Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available. Playing its 22nd <\/sup>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (BOS) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
