{"id":6451,"date":"2015-03-26T14:39:25","date_gmt":"2015-03-26T14:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/?p=6451"},"modified":"2015-03-26T14:39:25","modified_gmt":"2015-03-26T14:39:25","slug":"honkers-sign-tall-right-hander-from-st-thomas-to-temporary-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/2015\/03\/26\/honkers-sign-tall-right-hander-from-st-thomas-to-temporary-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Honkers Sign Tall Right-Hander from St. Thomas to Temporary Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">(Rochester, Minn.)<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>\u2014<\/b> The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of right handed pitcher Tyler Feyereisen (Fire-Izen) from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota to a temporary contract for the 2015 season.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Feyereisen is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound sophomore from Oakdale, Minnesota.\u00a0 Currently he is 2-1 with a 3.29 ERA.\u00a0 Feyereisen has made four appearances on the season, three of which are starts, pitching 13.2 innings and striking out 11.\u00a0 As a freshman, Feyereisen only made 1 appearance on the season, falling to Mono, shutting him down all spring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Temporary players are guaranteed 10 days with the team with a maximum stay of the end of the first half, depending on roster size.\u00a0 Alex Schultz started off as a temporary player last summer for Rochester, and was intra-league waived at the end of the first half, but was able to return with a full-time contract when the team lost a player the next day and he cleared waivers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Rochester Honkers 22nd season begins on May 26th when the Mankato MoonDogs bark into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.\u00a0 Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available. Playing its 22<sup>nd <\/sup>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (BOS) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
