Jakusik was impressive in his first start for the Honkers, registering 6 strikeouts while allowing three hits and one run in 5.2 innings pitched.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Honkers were led at the Plate by catcher Sam Hall <strong>(Dixie State)<\/strong> and Alex Schultz <strong>(Nebraska-Omaha).<\/strong> Hall went 3 for 4 on the day after coming into this game without a hit on the season. Shultz went 2 for 5 and scored two of the Honkers five runs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBattle Creeks only score of the day came when Tyler Walsh&nbsp;<strong>(Belmont)<\/strong> hit a home run off Jakusik in the fourth inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tErrors once again aided the Honkers in getting a victory. Battle Creek committed four errors, one day after Kalamazoo committed seven in an 11-2 loss to Rochester. The Honkers led 1-0 when they poured in three runs in the fourth inning, two of those coming unearned. Hall&rsquo;s score in the eighth also came in unearned on a wild pitch.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Honkers and Bombers square off again tomorrow, bright and early at 9:05 Central Time. It will be a double header of two 7-inning games against the Mankato MoonDogs beginning at 5:05 p.m. It is Think Mutual Bank Night, and a Fireworks Extravaganza following the game.\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t###\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Rochester Honkers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 22<sup>nd<\/sup><\/em>&nbsp;<em>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
