Jordan Gross (Tulane) earned the win for the Honkers, while Doug Hayes (Illinois) was charged with the loss for Waterloo.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDesignated hitter Matt Fiedler (Minnesota) had two RBIs and three runs scored for Rochester, including a two-run homerun in the eighth inning with two outs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRochester took an early lead, chasing the starter Hayes in the first with three runs, two of which came on a two-RBI double from Dempsey Grover (UC Santa Barabara). The lead stretched to 5-0 as Fiedler and Miles Mostrbuoni (College of San Mateo) both scored unearned runs in the second innings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWaterloo finally got on the board with one run in the third, but the lead stayed at five when Ryan Webberley (Cal Poly Pomona) scored the third unearned run of the game for the Honkers in the bottom of that same inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Bucks scored three in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 6-4, but would get no closer as Fiedler&rsquo;s bomb in the eighth provided the insurance runs the Honkers needed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRochester and Waterloo will face off again tonight in Waterloo for the second game of the home-and-home doubleheader at 7:05.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Honkers will be back at Mayo Field tomorrow, July 1<sup>st<\/sup>, to face the Battle Creek Bombers at 7:05.
