\n\tRochester, Minn.<\/strong> – The Northwoods League announced today the hire of Tina Coil as Vice President, Licensing and Technology. Tina comes to the league with 17 years of baseball experience, serving 16 years with Minor League Baseball and spending the last year as a consultant.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPrior to going out on her own as a consultant, Coil was the Vice President of Business Development at Minor League Baseball. As a member of the senior management team, she was responsible for ensuring all departments worked together effectively to support and advance company initiatives, maximize revenues, and provide outstanding service to constituents. When she was named to that position in 2011, she became the first female Vice President in the history of Minor League Baseball.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTina spent her first ten years with Minor League Baseball in its Licensing Department, working with member teams to manage branding and logo development, in addition to promoting the sale of licensed merchandise. After starting as an intern, she held the positions of Assistant Director and Associate Director before being named Director of Licensing in 2008.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTina’s first experience working for organized baseball was as a volunteer for the St. Cloud River Bats during their inaugural season in the Northwoods League.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTina graduated from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Ohio University with a Master of Sports Administration and Facility Management degree. Tina, her husband Jason, and stepchildren Aiden, Maiah and Jilene reside in Rochester, MN.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. The 22-year old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 140 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (KC).
