\n\tH<\/em>unter Van Horn joins the flock<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t(Rochester, Minn.) –<\/strong> The Rochester Honkers announced today the signing of Clemson left-handed pitcher Hunter Van Horn to their roster for the 2016 Northwoods League Season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Horn is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound sophomore from Tampa, Fla. He was red-shirted his second year, but the lefthander went 0-0 in 10 appearances as a freshman for the Tigers. In his 10 appearances, he pitched 7.1 innings, walked six and struck out seven.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHe carried a 6.14 ERA his freshman year, when he allowed five runs. He also held hitters to a .250 average, surrendering seven hits.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Horn played his high school baseball at Jesuit High School, where he lettered two times. In his time there, he played in the East Coast Pro Showcase and was a member of the Florida Travel Baseball Team. He was rated the No. 55 player and No. 7 left hander in Florida by Perfect Game. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rochester Honkers 23rd<\/sup> season begins on May 31st<\/sup> when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express.  The following night, Wednesday, June 1st<\/sup>, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available. \n\tThe Rochester Honkers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 23rd season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, 150 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (CHC).
