\n\tThree Former Honkers Taking Part in the 2016 Arizona Fall League<\/u><\/strong>
\n\tJared Miller, Chad Wallach, and Scott Heineman, all from the 2012 Team will participate<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t(Rochester, Minn.)- <\/strong>The Rochester Honkers announced today that three players from their 2012 team will be participating in the 2016 Arizona Fall League.  A total of 24 former Northwoods League players will be competing over the next two months in Arizona against the top players in Minor League Baseball.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJared Miller, a left-handed pitcher from Vanderbilt, played for the Honkers in 2012 as a freshman.  He finished the season 3-4 with a 5.25 ERA, and collected 35 strikeouts in 36 innings of work.  He was drafted in the 11th<\/sup> round of the 2014 MLB Draft by Arizona, and just finished the 2016 season with the Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Arizona.  Miller has been assigned to the Salt River Rafters.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tChad Wallach, a sophomore catcher and first baseman from Cal State Fullerton, finished the 2012 Honkers season hitting .303, with seven homeruns, 10 doubles and 28 RBI over 45 games played.  Wallach was drafted in the 5th<\/sup> round of the 2013 MLB Draft by Miami and just finished the 2016 season with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.  He has been assigned to the Peoria Javelinas.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tScott Heineman, a freshman infielder from Oregon, was slated to play for the Honkers in 2012 but was unable to report.  He was drafted in the 11th<\/sup> round of the 2015 MLB Draft by Texas and just finished the 2016 season with the High Desert Mavericks, the Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Texas Rangers.  Heineman has been assigned to the Surprise Saguaros.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFall league showcases the top prospects in Minor League Baseball<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tRochester, Minn.<\/strong> – Starting today, twenty-four former Northwoods League players will be competing over the next two months in Arizona against the top players in Minor League Baseball.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are six teams in the Arizona Fall League: Scottsdale Scorpions, Mesa Solar Sox, Salt River Rafters, Glendale Desert Dogs, Peoria Javelinas and the Surprise Saguaros. The names of the teams were picked by Major League Baseball to reflect the Southwestern desert traditions in the state.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe teams are broken into two divisions, East and West and each Major League Baseball team sends six top prospects to the Arizona Fall League. Most of the players are Double-A and Triple-A Minor League players. Each team can choose to send one player considered a Class A player.\n<\/p>\n
