The Rockford Rivets are now accepting applications for the 2019 season.
2019 Rockford Rivets Internships
The Rockford Rivets are accepting applications for the 2019 season. The Rockford Rivets are members of the Summer Collegiate Northwoods League and play 36 home games from late May – August. The internships run from Early May to Mid August. Interns work directly with the management staff. All interns are expected to work all 36 home games during the season. The club has begun holding interviews and will continue to do so until all positions are full.
Former interns in this league have gone on to work as General Managers in this league and to work in the MLB, NFL, NCAA, and various minor league and professional organizations.
This is an unpaid internship. All interns must receive college credit for the internship OR be directly supervised by a professor or advisor from their accredited academic degree program at a university, college or vocational institution during the time of their internship.
Besides game day duties, each intern will be responsible for helping prepare and maintain the ballpark prior to the start of the season as well as participating in offsite events. Some of these tasks include painting, cleaning, hanging signage, making deliveries, fieldwork and other miscellaneous duties. Off-site events include managing part-time staff, set up and tear down of the event and fulfilling any special requests made by the customer.
Also, in addition to your specific area of focus, all interns will have the opportunity to work with the Rivets Front Office staff to gain experience in the marketing and ticket sales department. Sales tasks will include calling renewals and single game ticket buyers, creating surveys to gauge the fan experience, answering incoming phone calls, placing ticket orders, and delivering tickets to clients. Marketing tasks will include creating on field promotions and nightly promotions as well as brainstorming ideas for new sponsorship prospects.
