\n\tFormer Northwoods League star Ben Zobrist helped end a century-plus title pursuit on Wednesday.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tZobrist doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning at Cleveland as the Chicago Cubs beat the Indians, 8-7, in the seventh and deciding game of the World Series. Zobrist was named series MVP in the aftermath of the Cubs' first world championship since 1908.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tZobrist's lone hit in five at-bats on Wednesday was a double to left field off Bryan Shaw that broke a 6-6 tie. For the series, Zobrist hit .357 (10-for-28) and drove in two runs.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIt's the second year in a row Zobrist has been on the World Series winner. Last season, Zobrist helped Kansas City win its first title since 1985.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIn 2003, Zobrist played for the Wisconsin Woodchucks.\n<\/p>\n
