Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. \u2013 <\/strong>The Rockford Rivets (19-23) fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the final game of the Rivets\u2019 four game road trip on Wednesday night at Witter Field.<\/p>\n

For the third straight night, the pitching started well, and the bats struggled throughout for the Rivets. Alex Bacevicius was through the first three innings scoreless, before an outburst of runs for the Rafters made it 4-0 and ended Bacevicius\u2019s day.<\/p>\n

The runs for the Rivets were scored by Ryan Cole and Parker Bates, on a bases loaded walk, and a wild pitch, respectively. Rockford left a total of eight Rivets on base.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had runners in scoring position tonight, and we didn\u2019t come through,\u201d Rivets\u2019 Manager Brian Smith said, \u201cNobody came through in clutch situations. We get a hit in a clutch situation and we break the thing open, and get some momentum going into the next inning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rivets finish the four-game road trip winless. They return to Rivets Stadium tomorrow for a game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.<\/p>\n
