Rockford was shut out by the Traverse City Pit spitters in their franchises first ever away game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Traverse City\u2019s pitchers dealt damage to Rockford\u2019s batters on Thursday night, limiting them to only 3 hits total. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A key moment came in the bottom of the 8th inning. Malik Williams stepped to the plate with the bases loaded, and a chance to tie the game with a deep ball after Rockford\u2019s Higgins was hit by the pitch. Williams quickly jumped ahead 2-0 on the count, but swung at three pitches in a row to strike out and end the inning.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Head coach Josh Keim shares his thoughts on the at-bat: \u201cTheir pitcher was struggling to find the zone and we ended up helping him for out number 3. It was tough. We need to have better at-bats, and capitalize on those opportunities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Rivets will be taking the field for an early practice Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to work like normal in today\u2019s batting practice, and get these guys some work and some swings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rivets continue action Friday evening in the series finale against Traverse City.<\/span><\/p>\n
