Rockford defeated Green Bay 9-5 in an interdivisional matchup.<\/p>\n<p>Castro gave up his only hit in the first inning and Rockford\u2019s offense struck often, giving Castro solid insurance throughout the contest. <strong>Ty Crittenberger<\/strong> led off the Rockford attack with a double and clean-up hitter\u00a0<strong>Matthew Mebane<\/strong> drove him home on a sacrifice fly in the first.<\/p>\n<p>Rockford broke the game open and chased out Rockers starter Michael Fowler in the fourth inning. <strong>Thaxton Berch<\/strong>, <strong>Cam McDonald<\/strong> and <strong>Ben Brantley<\/strong> each had RBI singles as the Rivets scored four in the frame.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dylan Robertson<\/strong> extended his hitting streak to five games with a double in the fifth. Robertson went two for four with two doubles and two runs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Brantley<\/strong> hit his first homerun of the season with a line shot to right field in the eighth inning. The laser to right broke through the wind, which was blowing in for most of the game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noah Ruen<\/strong> pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning for Rockford, improving his ERA to 1.86 on the season in six appearances.<\/p>\n<p>Green Bay scored five runs in the ninth in a late rally, but the inning ended with the bases empty as <strong>Luke Fitton<\/strong> closed the game out.<\/p>\n<p>With the win, Rockford improves to 9-10 and is just 2.5 games behind Kenosha for the Great Lakes East division lead. Green Bay falls to 6-13.
