\n\tWISCONSIN RAPIDS, WIS.<\/strong> – The Rockford Rivets used more strong pitching and early offense to earn their sixth straight win, 6-1 over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Monday night at Witter Field.\n<\/p>\n \n\t \n<\/p>\n \n\tRockford RHP Zach Aring (1-1) collected the win with six strong innings, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out five, while Jack Riley (0-1) suffered the loss for the Rafters, going just an inning and two-thirds and allowing five earned runs on six hits. Anthony Dahl went the final three innings in relief.\n<\/p>\n \n\t \n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Rivets would jump out to a quick first inning lead as for the fourth consecutive game. Hunter Steinmetz led the game off with a walk and David Cronin doubled with one out. After an Alex Maloney groundout, Rivets designated hitter Ricardo Ramirez would drive both runners home with a double and Neal Tyrell would drive Ramirez home with a single to make it 3-0 in the first. Rockford would add two more runs in the second. With one out, Josh Hauser doubled and Steinmetz drove him home with a triple before Cronin would drive Steinmetz home with a single to make the score 5-0 Rivets.\n<\/p>\n \n\t \n<\/p>\n \n\tThe scoring for Rockford would conclude in the sixth. After a single by Joe Kubera, a sacrifice bunt by Nate Montgomery, and a wild pitch, Josh Hauser would get Kubera home with a sacrifice fly.
