LAST TIME OUT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The St. Cloud Rox (42-18) took down the Badlands Big Sticks (37-24) with a go-ahead run in the ninth inning on Thursday to win 5-4.<\/p>\n

The Rox scored first in the ballgame, with an RBI double from\u00a0Jackson Hauge\u00a0(University of Kansas) and an RBI single from\u00a0Levi Lampert\u00a0(SW Minnesota State University) helping the Rox take a 2-0 lead in the third inning.<\/p>\n

St. Cloud extended the lead in the fifth with an RBI single from Hauge, and later scored a run in the sixth to make it 4-0.<\/p>\n

Starting Pitcher\u00a0JJ Hollis\u00a0(University of California) threw six innings of shutout ball, holding the Big Sticks scoreless on the day.<\/p>\n

With the game tied at four apiece in the top of the ninth inning,\u00a0Wilmis Castro\u00a0(St. Cloud State University) hit a single, which allowed Hauge to reach home and give St. Cloud the 5-4 advantage.<\/p>\n

In the bottom of the ninth, Pitcher\u00a0Brandon Jaenke\u00a0(University of Minnesota) cemented himself into Rox history. Jaenke closed the game out for his fourteenth save of the season, a Rox single-season record. The Rox would end the game in front 5-4.<\/p>\n

PROBABLE STARTERS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)<\/strong><\/p>\n

STC-\u00a0<\/strong>The Rox will turn to Joshua Dykhoff to be the starter and opener in game two. Dykhoff was 6-5 with a 3.27 ERA in 77 innings at Minnesota-Crookston. He started 13 games, with five complete games, and two shutouts. Dykhoff was among the national leaders for strikeout\/walk ratio with 79 strikeouts to six walks. His opponents hit just .213 against him. Dykhoff posted a 0.87 WHIP.<\/p>\n

Caden Leonard will get the bulk of the innings in game two. This will be his fifth appearance of the year for St. Cloud where he has thrown 14.2 innings for an ERA of 4.30. He has struck out six, walked five, and allowed 12 hits across those innings this season. His last start was five innings of four run ball vs Minot with three strikeouts and one walk and three hits allowed.<\/p>\n

BBS-\u00a0<\/strong>Jack Spring will get the ball in the series finale for Badlands. Across 18.0 innings this season he has an ERA of 3.00 with 12 strikeouts, seven walks, and fifteen hits. He threw a scoreless inning against St. Cloud back on July 4. His last outing was a scoreless inning vs Bismarck with two walks and two strikeouts.
