\n\tRochester, MN — <\/strong>They hit one, and then another one…and another one. The Rox exploded for seven runs in the 2nd inning with help from the long ball. Eric Feliz (Notre Dame) hit the first pitch of the inning out of the park, and then Luke Ringhofer (South Dakota State) in his first at-bat this summer followed Feliz's lead and belted a homer of his own. Later in the inning with two on, Matt Tarantino (Pacific) sent a towering shot over the wall to cap the monster inning. Then in the 9th, fill-in LF Brent Killam (Georgetown) collected his second hit of the night with a dinger to cap the scoring at 12-0.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe offense came alive, but once again the starting pitching for St. Cloud kept the bats of the opposition silent. Kenny Saenz (BYU) made his first start in almost a year, dating back to his summer team in 2016, and pitched five complete scoreless innings. Saenz struck out 10 batters, and allowed just three hits and one walk. Rox pitchers have now pitched 15 innings, and allowed just one earned run. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tSTC improves to 2-1 on the season, outscoring opponents in its last two games 20-2. The Rox lineup almost saw all of its hitters all register at least one hit, with five recording two. Tonight the Rox already broke their record for most home runs in a single game last year. On June 22 versus Waterloo, St. Cloud only hit two home runs in one game. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rox are back at Joe Faber Field Friday night for the 2017 home opener presented by Coburns! First pitch is set for 7:05 PM with two more home games this weekend against the Bismarck Larks.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe St. Cloud Times Player of the Game is RHP Kenny Saenz. Despite the offensive outburt, Saenz shut down a Honkers  offense that scored 13 runs just two days ago. He finished the game with 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB and 10 K.\"\"\n<\/p>\n
