 <\/p>\n

After the conclusion of every Northwoods League season, St. Cloud Rox players come and go in hopes of advancing their baseball careers beyond college and reaching the professional level.<\/p>\n

As we’ve seen in the past, 190 former Northwoods League players have gone on to play at the Major League level \u2014 a league-best 24 players that played in St. Cloud<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 currently including the likes of Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes (played in St. Cloud in 2010) and Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (played in St. Cloud in 2010-11).<\/p>\n

There are, however, numerous former Rox players that are still in pursuit of their dream, trying to climb their way up minor league systems to grab their shot with a big league club.<\/p>\n

Right now, 38 former St. Cloud players are playing in the minor leagues, including former team MVP’s Chris Paul and\u00a0Trevor Charpie, among others.<\/p>\n

Where are all 38 of those players currently playing? We’re here to help break it all down.<\/p>\n

Triple-A<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There are four former Rox playing at the triple-A level right now, all of which are off to nice starts to their young seasons.<\/p>\n

Ben Meyer<\/a> (played with the Rox in 2012) is currently playing for the New Orleans Baby Cakes in the Miami Marlins system,\u00a0Alex McRae<\/a> (2013) is with the Indianapolis Indians in the Pittsburgh Pirates system,\u00a0Carlos Lopez<\/a> (2012) is playing for the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos in the Mexican League and\u00a0Kade Scivicque<\/a> (2014) began the year playing for the Gwinnett Stripers in the Atlanta Braves system.<\/p>\n

Double-A<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In double-A ball, there are seven former Rox players that are playing for various teams across the country.<\/p>\n

Will Craig<\/a> (2014) is having a hot start to the year playing for the Altoona Curve in the Pirates system. Chris Paul<\/a> (2012-14) is currently with the Chattanooga Lookouts in the Twins system, Ben DeLuzio<\/a> (2016) is playing for the Jackson Generals in the Arizona Diamondbacks system, Jay Flaa<\/a> (2013) and Lucas Long<\/a>\u00a0(2012-13) are both playing for the Bowie Baysox in the Baltimore Orioles system,\u00a0Nick Tanielu<\/a> (2012) and\u00a0Tyler Wolfe<\/a>\u00a0(2013) are both playing for the Corpus Christi Hooks in the Houston Astros system.<\/p>\n

Class A Advanced<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Class A Advanced ball currently holds the largest number of former Rox, containing 11 former players.<\/p>\n

TJ Friedl<\/a> (2016) is currently playing for the Daytona Tortugas in the Cincinnati Reds system, Austin Athmann<\/a>\u00a0(2015) is playing for the Lakeland Flying Tigers in the Detroit Tigers system, Josh Altman<\/a>\u00a0(2015) is playing for the Down East Wood Ducks in the Texas Rangers system, Chad Hockin<\/a>\u00a0(2014) is playing for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in the Chicago Cubs system,\u00a0Jason Hoppe<\/a> (2013) is with the Inland Empire 66ers in the Los Angeles Angels system, Vincent Jackson<\/a> (2013) is playing for the Palm Beach Cardinals in the St. Louis Cardinals system,\u00a0Mitchell Kranson<\/a> (2014) and\u00a0Bradley Strong<\/a> (2013-14) are both playing for the Fort Myers Miracle in the Twins system, Dalton Sawyer<\/a> (2013) is playing for the Stockton Ports in the Oakland Athletics system, Josh Taylor <\/a>(2014) is playing for the Visalia Rawhide in the Diamondbacks system and Boo Vasquez<\/a> (2012) is with the Jupiter Hammerheads in the Marlins system.<\/p>\n

Class A<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In Class A, seven former Rox are playing across the country in minor league systems.<\/p>\n

Brian Glowicki<\/a> (2015-16) is with the South Bend Cubs in the Cubs system, Lucas Gilbreath<\/a> (2015) is playing for the Asheville Tourists in the Colorado Rockies system, Logan Salow<\/a> (2016) is playing for the Beloit Snappers in the Athletics system, John Sansone<\/a> (2015) is playing for the Dayton Dragons in the Reds system, Matt Shannon<\/a> (2016) is playing for the Lansing Lugnuts in the Toronto Blue Jays system, Keaton Siomkin<\/a> (2012) is with the Peoria Chiefs in the Cardinals system and\u00a0Harrison Wenson<\/a> (2014) is currently playing for the Burlington Bees in the Angels system.<\/p>\n

Class A Short Season<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In Class A Short Season ball, there are four former Rox currently playing.<\/p>\n

Luke Ringhofer<\/a> (2016-17) is currently with the Aberdeen IronBirds in the Orioles system, Brett Pope<\/a> (2015-16) is with the West Virginia Black Bears in the Pirates system, Denis Karas<\/a> (2016) is playing for the Batavia Muckdogs in the Marlins system and Brandon Benson<\/a> (2015-16) with with the\u00a0State College Spikes in the Cardinals system.<\/p>\n

Rookie League<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, in the Rookie League ball, five former Rox are in action around the country.<\/p>\n

Trevor Charpie<\/a> (2015-16) is currently playing for the GCL Rays in the Tampa Bay Rays system,\u00a0Carlos Leal<\/a>\u00a0(2013) is with the AZL Brewers in Milwaukee Brewers system,\u00a0Zach Pop<\/a> (2015) is playing for the Ogden Raptors in the Los Angeles Dodgers system,\u00a0Elvin Soto<\/a>\u00a0(2012) is playing with the Grand Junction Rockies in the Rockies system and\u00a0Jared Solomon<\/a> (2017) is with the AZL Reds in the Reds system.<\/p>\n
