An update regarding the 2019 season

Dear St. Croix River Hounds Fans,

As we head into another long Midwest winter and spend the next several months dreaming about green grass and baseball, we would like to thank you for your support. From the minute we landed at our new home in Hudson, we were embraced by a community who was passionate about baseball. You bought tickets, you entered contests, you wore our apparel, you followed us on social media and we are
convinced that we have the best fans in the league!

Now the real work begins! As you have seen – either in person or on social media – the stadium site has transformed from an abandoned greyhound track to a groomed piece of land ready for construction. We have worked hard to make the summer of 2019 our inaugural season, but several factors beyond our control will not make that possible.

Let us be perfectly clear…

Why the delay?

First, the overall site development is taking longer than expected. While delays are part of any construction process, due to several obstacles, we had to use all our contingency days which left us unable to get back on schedule to beat the winter season.

Second, for scheduling purposes, the Northwoods League needs an even number of teams to enter the league each season. Including the River Hounds, there was an odd number of teams on deck to enter the league in 2019. So, due to construction delays and scheduling concerns, we made the decision to push our inaugural season back one year.

Rest assured, we have the number one expansion seat for the 2020 season, so we are enthusiastically pushing forward.

We don’t consider this a set-back, we see it as an opportunity to make what was good, even better; it’s a chance to work out the kinks and guarantee we bring you the best baseball experience possible. We’ll take this time to get everything ready so we can welcome you to our new home in 2020.  We will uphold our Mission Statement: Providing entertainment for families and fans of all ages that is fun, safe and an experience that ensures lasting memories at an affordable price.

For those who have put money down or purchased season tickets, we will be reaching out to each one of you personally. We hope you won’t be discouraged by the delay, because we are not. We encourage you to stay with us as we keep the positive energy and momentum going.

If you haven’t already, please join us on social media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram: @scriverhounds) where we will keep you up-to-date on the construction progress and future events. We are always available by phone or email to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you in advance for your continued patience and gracious understanding.

Go Hounds!
