\n\tIt was a tough night for the Border Cats offence as Thunder Bay was swept in a doubleheader 11-1 and 4-0 by the Rochester Honkers at Tbaytel Park.  The Honkers broke open a close game in the opener by scoring seven runs in the 6th inning against the Cats bullpen.  Tyler Lequire (Pfieffer University) started for Thunder Bay and took the loss, pitching 4 2\/3 innings.  The righthander allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) with two walks and six strikeouts.  Nick Studer (Doane College) had a 2-4 performance at the plate in the opener.  In the nightcap, the Cats managed just two hits in getting shutout to slip to 2-6 on the season.  Kevin Woebke (Concordia University-St. Paul) made his first start and took the loss to fall to 1-1.  The lefthander went four innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits.  Woebke walked none and fanned six.  Rob Paller (Columbia University) made his Cats debut and recorded a single and a walk.  The twinbill also marked the return of infielder Kyle Hann to Thunder Bay.  The Oakville, Ontario native, who helped lead Canada to a silver medal at the 2012 World Junior Baseball Championships, batted . 323 in 27 games for the Cats last season.  The Cats also announced that Thunder Bay's Carter McEachern (Trinity University) will miss three weeks with a broken bone in his right arm.  McEachern was hit by a pitch in last Friday's game against Duluth.  The Cats open a six-game road trip Wednesday in Eau Claire with the start of a two-game series against the Express.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
