Peter Fusek (Western Illinois University) delivered a two-run triple in the tenth inning, breaking a 5-5 tie, and the Thunder Bay Border Cats hung on for an 8-6 extra inning win over the St. Cloud Rox Saturday night at Joe Faber Field.\u00a0 The Cats clawed their way back from a 4-1 deficit, scoring four runs in the top of the eighth to take a 5-4 lead, only to see the Rox tie it in the bottom half of the inning.\u00a0 Newcomer Brayden Kuriger (Nicholls State University) had two hits and three runs batted in for Thunder Bay and Tyler Kehoe (South Alabama) also had two hits and two RBI.<\/div>\n

Reliever Billy Humphrey (Western Illinois University) got the win in his first appearance of the season as he allowed one earned run over 2 2\/3 innings, while Griffin Catto (Jefferson College) got the final out as the Whitby, ON, native recorded his first save.<\/div>\n

The win improved the Cats record to 5-6 and they’ll wrap up the two-game series with the Rox (9-4), on Sunday at 5:00pm ET.\u00a0 Righthander Caleb Bunch (Ranger College) is the scheduled starter for Cats, who return home on Monday to play St. Cloud at 6:35pm at Port Arthur Stadium.<\/div>\n
