Both teams started the extra inning with a runner on the second base, but it was the Loggers who cashed in, thanks to a game winning single off the bat of Justin DeCriscio (University of San Diego).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_elementToProof x_elementToProof\">Tyler Kehoe (South Alabama) homered in the loss, his first of the season, while Zane Skansi (Creighton University) hit a two-run shot for his second homer.\u00a0 Tanner Carter (Tarleton State University) pitched two innings in relief and took the loss.\u00a0<span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">The defeat dropped Thunder Bay&#8217;s record to 13-9, leaving the Cats tied with Duluth atop the Great Plains East Division.\u00a0 The Huskies scored three in the bottom of the ninth inning to upend Waterloo 6-5.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_elementToProof x_elementToProof\">The Cats and Loggers meet again on Saturday at 7:35pm.\u00a0 Michael Pirrello (University of California-Irvine) is the scheduled starter for the Cats as he makes his season debut.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_elementToProof x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_x_elementToProof x_x_elementToProof x_elementToProof\">###<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof\"><i><span class=\"x_x_x_x_x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_elementToProof\"><i><span class=\"x_x_x_x_x_ContentPasted0\">The Thunder Bay Border Cats are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 325 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (NYM), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS).
