For the second straight night, the Thunder Bay Border Cats rode solid pitching to their second win in a row, beating the Rochester Honkers 5-2 on Thursday at Mayo Field.\u00a0 Robert Spencer (Texas A&M University-Kingsville) started on the mound for the Cats and pitched five innings, allowing just one hit and one run, while striking out five as he improved his record to 2-3. Matt Juza (College of St. Scholastica) tossed two scoreless innings in middle relief with three strikeouts and Ryan Garvey (Hartnell College) got the final three outs for his first save.<\/div>\n

Daylan Pena (Texas State University) led Thunder Bay at the plate as he hit a pair of solo homers, giving him three on the season, as the Cats won for the third time in four games and upped their overall record to 22-27. The Cats lead the season series 4-3 and close out their two-game set against the Honkers on Friday night at 7:35pm ET. Evans Hendricks (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) is the scheduled starter for Thunder Bay.\u00a0 The lefthander has made six starts this season and is 0-0 with a 4.26 earned run average.<\/div>\n
