\n\tJordan Smith's 2-RBI single in the top of the 13th inning broke a deadlock and gave the Rochester Honkers a 15-12 victory over the Thunder Bay Border Cats in action at TBaytel Park.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCarl Jameson pitched three shutout innings for the win (3-1). Ben Allison (Belhaven University) tossed 5 2\/3 innings for the Border Cats in relief and took the loss. He allowed five hits, and four runs (one earned) walking five and striking out four.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was a crazy affair as both starting pitchers were chased early. The Border Cats threw down a seven spot in the bottom of the second to take an 8-1 lead. That evaporated in the matter of two innings as the Honkers scored seven in the fourth and one in the third to retake the lead.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThunder Bay also seen a three run lead disappear as the Honkers resiliency forced extras. The Border Cats two opportunities to win it in extras. They left the game winning run on second base in the 12th inning. And in the 11th a controversial double play complete with the question, "did the ball bounce?" ended the Cats threat in which they would have had the game winning run on third.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCory Kay (Missouri State) drove in three runs going 2-6. Tyler Rolland (Southern Illinois) and Christian Correa (Nicholls State) each collected a pair of RBI's and three hits in the ball game to pace the Border Cat offense.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Boldt drove in a pair for the Honkers on a 3-7 night. John Schuknecht and Smith collected two RBI's, with Smith's giving the Honkers the go ahead runs. Casey Fletcher had a 4 hit night for the Honkers with an RBI, a walk and a pair of runs scored.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThunder Bay and Rochester will wrap up the series on Sunday evening with the first pitch set to go at 5:05pm from TBaytel Park.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
