The Border Cats drew first blood with a three-run first, taking a lead that wouldn\u2019t be relinquished en route to a 9-4 victory over the Waterloo Bucks on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Greg LaChance (University of Illinois) extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a first inning RBI double, with Jordan Bach (Southern Illinois University) adding a run-scoring hit in the frame.<\/p>\n
Bach was the Cwench player of the game for the Border Cats, going 3-for-4 with 3 runs batted in and a pair of stolen bases. Cwench is the official hydration partner of the Border Cats.<\/p>\n
Lucas Johnson added some insurance with a two-run double to deep left-centre in the fifth inning.<\/p>\n
Thunder Bay starting pitcher Makaio Cisneros (Pensacola State College) threw five innings of two-run ball, striking out seven, to pick up the win.<\/p>\n
The Border Cats improve to 14-10, moving to 3.5 games back of Waterloo in the chase for the Great Plains East division first half crown.<\/p>\n
