\n\tThe Waterloo Bucks (38-20, 14-9) continued their dominance over the Thunder Bay Border Cats (18-38, 4-17) with an 11-4 victory in action at TBaytel Park. Every player in the Waterloo order contributed to a 19-hit performance, with seven hitters collecting multi-hit games. The Border Cats offense had a great showing collecting hits from eight of nine hitters in the order on their way to a 13 spot in the hit column. This win marks the Bucks 14th in a row over the Border Cats dating back to 2012.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFour different Bucks had extra base hits. Jon McAllister was not one of them but was 4-5 with two runs, an RBI and a walk. Will Sparks also did not have an extra-base hit going 2-6 but knocking in three runs. David Kerian was 3-4 with a double, two runs scored and a walk. And Ryan Nagle's only hit was a two-run home run.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNick Studer (Doane College) and Ty Blankmeyer (St. John's University) quietly put together solid evening for the Border Cats. Both went 3-4, Studer driving in two RBI's on the night.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bucks lit up the scoreboard early and often. The offense sponsered a 6-run lead for starter pitcher Cody Sedlock after three innings. Sedlock did the rest going seven strong, collecting the win (5-2) allowing one run on seven hits, with a walk and six strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGunnar Kay (Dallas Baptist) got hit hard in taking the loss (2-2). The Border Cats Freshman starter allowed seven hits, leading to five runs, with a strikeout. His bullpen teammates could not do much as it seemed everything went right for the Bucks on the night.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe teams do battle again on Monday night starting at 7:05pm at TBaytel Park, part of a four game series. The Border Cats will send middle reliever Nathan Aultman to the mound in a spot start. The Northwestern State University Junior is 0-1 with a 3.85 ERA on the summer and will make his first start. Waterloo is set to counter with Righty Derek Burkamper. He will be making his second spot start of the summer and is 0-1 with an ERA of 8.21.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
