\n\tRobb Paller (Columbia University) dubbed "The Streak Snapper" hits a three run home run in the 2nd inning of a Border Cats 11-9 victory over the Waterloo Bucks. \n\tRobb Paller (Columbia University) had a two-home run night and his second one turned out to be the difference as the Thunder Bay Border Cats (19-38, 5-17) topped the Waterloo Bucks (38-21, 14-10) 11-9 in action at TBaytel Park. Paller, who was surprisingly not selected as an all-star hit his second grand slam winner to end a major losing streak.  His 9th home run and 39th RBI, ended a 14 game losing streak the Border Cats were facing heading into the action today. Last time out for Paller, he halted a nine-game losing streak a couple of weeks back.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPaller also hit a three run home run in the 2nd inning to give him 7-RBI's on the night. Tyler Patterson (St. Cloud State) and Ty Blankmeyer (St. John's University) both had three hit nights at the bottom of the Border Cat order that also included driving in a run and scoring twice.Tyler Rolland (Southern Illinois) also went 2-4 with a double and a walk.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe game was delayed twice and the Waterloo ball club needed to win the game as they are in the thick of a playoff race. The Bucks were losing 7-6 when the skies opened the second time in the 7th inning, so the result would have stood on a loss. Instead, Waterloo waited it out, the rain stopped and play resumed. When play continued, the Bucks instantly took the lead 8-7. They would tack one on in the top of the 8th.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPatterson and Blankmeyer both got on with with seeing eye singles. Jordan Serena (Columbia University) reached on an error by Bucks Pitcher J.D. Moore which loaded the basis. Cue up the Paller heroics as he put a no-doubter on to Beverly Street over the right centre wall.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDevin McLemore (Winston Salem State) came in to pick up the save (3), allowing a two out single before getting Pat MacKenzie to pop out to Serena and end a four and a half hour affair. Ben Allison (Belhaven University) picked up the win (4-5) after waiting through the one hour delay. Moore took the loss (1-3) for Waterloo.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Cats and Bucks are back at it on Tuesday afternoon with first pitch slated for 1:35pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
