The Thunder Bay Border Cats closed out the home portion of their 2025 Northwoods League schedule with a commanding win.<\/p>\n
The Border Cats raced out to an 11-2 win over the Duluth Huskies, giving the 2,416 fans at Port Arthur Stadium an enjoyable signoff to the campaign.<\/p>\n
Kaiden Ashton (Central Missouri University), Corey Morro (University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) and Duncan Key (University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) each drove in a pair of runs.<\/p>\n
Jeremy Sheffield (Georgetown University) was the Cwench player of the game for the Border Cats, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Cwench is the official hydration partner of the Border Cats.<\/p>\n
Braden Gluth (North Dakota State University) earned his third win of the campaign, throwing seven innings and surrendering only two runs while recording an impressive 10 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Grant Faris (Ottawa University) worked two scoreless innings in relief to close out the win.<\/p>\n
Thunder Bay\u2019s overall record improves to 39-29, and 18-16 in the second half, with five consecutive wins and victories in eight of their last 10 games.<\/p>\n
Thunder Bay extends their advantage over their border rivals, with eight wins in 10 games against their Duluth counterparts.<\/p>\n
The Border Cats close out the season on the road with a two-game series against the Huskies at Wade Stadium in Duluth. The Huskies have clinched the Great Plains East division second-half title. Season tickets for the 2026 season are on sale now.<\/p>\n
