\n\tThe Duluth Huskies swept the Thunder Bay Border Cats in a two-game two-city double header on Wednesday. They were both close games with Duluth winning 7-4 and 6-4. The series started at TBaytel Park and concluded at Wade Stadium in Minnesota.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGame one at TBaytel Park ended up being suspended after a massive thunder storm stopped proceedings. The Huskies were leading 3-0 at the time of the stoppage (in the top of the 4th inning) and due to timing the game, everyone packed the buses and the game commenced in Duluth.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Huskies would score one in the 4th. Then the come back was on as Nick Studer (Doane College) and Cory Kay (Missouri State) both hit 2-RBI base hits in the bottom of the 6th to draw things level.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was close as things would get as Huskies Catcher Nolan Johnson would single with two out in the 8th inning to plate Eric Peterson for the game winner. The Huskies would add a pair of runs in the 9th to finish the game. Josh McLaney would take the win (1-1) out of the bullpen. The two runs allowed Steve Villines a comfortable 4th save of the season. Border Cats Reliever Austin Griffie (Harford CC) took the loss (0-3) working an extended outing.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGame 2 would be limited to being a seven inning affair. The Huskies led out to a 5-0 showing after two innings, scoring all runs off of Border Cats Starting Pitcher Ben Allison (Belhaven University, 4-6), making his first start in a month. Allison fought hard to keep the damage to only one more run. He had no run support however, as the Border Cats offense was stifled by Huskies Starter Dylan Barrow who pitched a one-hit, four-inning start, striking out seven.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tReid Peavy (Northwestern State) pitched no-hit shutout baseball in the 5th and 6th to give the Border Cats offense a chance to get back in it.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Border Cats managed a 4-run rally in the 7th, as Jordan Serena (Columbia University) led the way going 2-4 with a double and run scored. A Huskies error aided things and Christian Correa (Nicholls State) would double home a pair of runs but the 4-runs were as close as things would come. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThunder Bay hosts Wisconsin Rapids for a 2.5 game series starting Thursday evening. The 0.5 of a game is a continuation of a game that got rained out in Wisconsin and starts at 6:05pm at TBaytel Park, with the Rafters ahead 5-1.
