{"id":17125,"date":"2026-07-06T06:12:32","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T10:12:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/thunder-bay-border-cats\/?p=17125"},"modified":"2026-07-06T06:12:32","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T10:12:32","slug":"cats-win-in-waterloo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/thunder-bay-border-cats\/2026\/07\/06\/cats-win-in-waterloo\/","title":{"rendered":"CATS WIN IN WATERLOO"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Thunder Bay Border Cats got back into the win column on Sunday as they beat the Waterloo Bucks 7-1 at Riverfront Stadium.\u00a0 The Cats had a 2-1 lead after the first inning and that score held up until Thunder Bay put the game away with a four-run eighth inning, thanks to a two-run single by Colin Fisher (University of Incarnate Word), and a single run in the top of the ninth.\u00a0 Centre fielder William Polanco (Miami Dade CC) led the way offensively at the plate with a 3-for-5 performance including a double, two runs batted in, and a run scored.\u00a0 Manny Alberto (Western Kentucky University) had three hits with an RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Steve Spalitta (University of Louisiana-Lafayette) also had three hits, including a double, and scored twice.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Tyler Bribiescas (University of Arkansas-Monticello) got the win to improve his record to 2-4.
