A two-run RBI triple from Trevin Esquerra in the 15<sup>th<\/sup> inning was the difference maker for the Huskies as they took the lead and the Border Cats were unable to tie the game.<\/p>\n<p>The Border Cats once again got off to a quick start and led 4-1 going into the fourth inning. In the Huskies half of the 4<sup>th<\/sup> inning, they tied the game and it stayed that way all the way until the 15<sup>th<\/sup> inning. The Cats came close to winning in the 14<sup>th<\/sup> inning but grounded out into a triple play.<\/p>\n<p>Offensively the Cats combined for 14 hits with some standout performances. Garret Saunders went 3-6 with an RBI. Mark Vierling also went 3-6 with a walk. Nick Conti went 2-6 with an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>On the mound, John Sakowski pitched 3 2\/3 innings while striking out 4. Jack Rasmussen replaced Sakowski and pitched two solid innings of his own. He was then replaced by Andrew Gross who also pitched a couple solid innings. The ball was then handed off to Max Christoff who finished the game for the Cats and picked up the loss.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats are back in action tomorrow in Duluth, MN. as they will faceoff against the same Huskies in Game 2 of the Superior Cup.
