Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium to host Cedar Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 30

The Cedar Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday, September 30, at 9:30 a.m.  This year, for the first time, the Walk will be held in a new location – Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium, home of the Waterloo Bucks.

Those in attendance will complete a one or two-mile walk, while learning about the disease and advocacy opportunities.  A tribute ceremony will also be held.

An estimated 5.5 million Americans had Alzheimer’s dementia in 2016, including 64,000 Iowans.  Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.  The Walk is held annually across the nation in numerous locations.

The event is family-friendly and open to all ages.  The Alzheimer’s Association East Central Iowa Chapter is organizing a number of vendors to be in attendance, as well.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.  Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium is located at 850 Park Rd. in Waterloo.
