Waterloo Bucks first baseman Garrett McGowan (Pittsburg St.) will participate in tonight’s 2021 Northwoods League Home Run <\/a>Challenge.\u00a0 McGowan replaces Bucks infielder Cameron Repetti, who is unable to participate due to injury.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

On the season, the Blue Springs, Missouri native is hitting .335 with 36 RBI and four home runs, which is tied for the team lead.<\/p>\n

Nine participants from both the Great Plains and the Great Lakes have been chosen for the event which will feature a nine-inning competition between the two divisions.<\/p>\n

The format for the Home Run Challenge<\/span> is below:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There will be 9 innings with each player having one half inning.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Away team (Great Lakes) player bats first in the top of the inning, and home team player next (Great Plains) in the bottom half of the inning.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each player will receive 2 minutes, 30 seconds to hit as many home runs as they can during their turn.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each player will be allowed one timeout that they can take at any time during their 2:30, should they choose.\u00a0 Timeouts will be thirty seconds in length.<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Should any contestant hit back-to-back home runs, they will be granted an additional :30 of time that will be added on after their original 2 minutes has completed and they take a :30 break.\u00a0 No timeouts will be granted during the bonus time session.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Team that hits the most Home Runs will be declared the NWL HR Challenge<\/span> Team Champions.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Individual who hits the most home runs will be declared the NWL HR Challenge<\/span> Individual Champion and receive a trophy from the Mankato MoonDogs.<\/p>\n

The 2021 All-Star Game will take place in Mankato, MN, at ISG Field, home of the Mankato MoonDogs.<\/p>\n
