WATERLOO, Iowa \u2013 For the second straight night, the Bucks had the tying run aboard the bases in the bottom of the ninth. The difference this time? The Bucks scored.<\/span><\/p>\n

After falling in a late-inning comeback from the Bismarck Larks (7-11) on Friday night, the Waterloo Bucks (4-14) were confident it wouldn\u2019t happen again. Especially with Garrett Yawn, a pitcher that had only thrown a single inning with a 9.00 ERA on the mound for Bismarck. Their confidence paid off as Kyle Huckstorf used small ball to get around the bases and give the Bucks an early 1-0 lead at the end of the first inning.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, past that the Bucks couldn\u2019t get anything going, Yawn settled in and pitched four no-hit innings from the third through the seventh before he was pulled from the ballgame based off pitch count.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Larks would claim the lead off another big day from Dylan Perry. Perry collected 4 RBI on the game, including a two-run home run to left field to give the Larks a 4-1 lead at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the bottom of the ninth, and the Bucks down to their final out, Aaron Ujimori hit an RBI single to bring the deficit back within two. Then, it was up to Kyle Huckstorf with two runners on board, including the tying run.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Huckstorf would strike out ending the ballgame. Despite the slow-hitting night for the Bucks, the defense did them in as they committed four errors, and only three of the Larks’ five runs were earned, which could\u2019ve at least forced extra innings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bucks and Larks split the four-game series, as now the La Crosse Loggers ride into Waterloo on a seven-game winning streak for a two-game series with the Bucks.
