DULUTH- A strong night of hits and pitching Sunday led the Waterloo Bucks to a 9-1 win over the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota.<\/div>\n

Right-handed thrower Chris Pack pitched seven innings, only allowing one run in the bottom of the seventh and throwing seven strike outs. Relievers Eric Julienne and Andrew Plotkin finished the game without giving up runs. All together the Bucks’ defense only gave up four hits Sunday night.<\/div>\n

The Bucks offense was strong, hitting 15 with every player contributing with one or more hits. All-Star selection Michael Giller started it off in the top of the third with a double which led Willie Argo to advance him to home in the next play. The Bucks would score four in the third inning.  <\/div>\n

The Bucks would stay at four runs until the eighth. Adrian Williams got the hits rolling with a single, which led to the Bucks scoring four more in the eighth and one in the ninth.<\/div>\n

Designated hitter Phil Keppler hit three for the night, scoring twice and bringing in one run. Pat Stover had one hit with two runs batted in, and Jason Krizan and Williams both had two hits, one run, and one run batted in. Tim Robbins and Josh Lyon each had one hit and one run during the game.  <\/div>\n

The Bucks return home for All-Star break Monday through Wednesday, and then travel to Michigan to face Battle Creek Thursday. Shortstop Michael Giller will be playing in the All-Star game Tuesday night in Thunder Bay; follow the Bucks website for All-Star game updates. The Bucks return to Riverfront Stadium Saturday, July 25 to play the Madison Mallards for a 7:05 match up.     <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
