WILLMAR, Minn. \u2013 Twice in four days.<\/p>\n

Twice in four days, the Willmar Stingers (6-2, 27-15) scored 20 runs against the Waterloo Bucks (1-5, 10-30), but this time it was in front of the Stingers fans at Bill Taunton Stadium.<\/p>\n

The evening started just about as poorly as it could\u2019ve. After the Bucks were blanked in the top of the first, Willmar responded with a five spot in the bottom of the inning.<\/p>\n

Despite the low, the Bucks got an ounce of life in the second when they scored two runs off a Mason Dobie RBI fielder\u2019s choice, and Karl Koerper scored on a passed ball. That cut the Willmar lead to just three, as it seemed like the Bucks would chip away at the Stinger lead.<\/p>\n

But then the third inning is where those chances collapsed for the Bucks. 10 runs scored, headlined by a 386-foot home run to dead center field by Joey Walls, a home run challenge participant who is now at five homers on the season.<\/p>\n

Things wouldn\u2019t get any better. Despite no runs scoring for either side in the middle third, the Stingers picked it back up with four in the seventh and one in the eighth to push the lead to the eventual final score of 20-2.<\/p>\n

Offensively, not much could get going for Waterloo. Only six base hits flashed on the scoreboard when the final out was recorded, but the Bucks left 13 runners on base.<\/p>\n
