BUCKS WRANGLE MAVERICK FOR 2010 SEASON<\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n

Waterloo<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of right-hand pitcher Luke Putz for the 2010 season.  Putz (pronounced Putts), a Lacona, Iowa<\/st1:state> native, comes to the Bucks as a junior from Minnesota<\/st1:placename> State<\/st1:placetype> University<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This season for the Mavericks, Putz finished with a record of 1-1 and a 2.59 ERA.  <\/span>He had 28 strikeouts and eight saves in 24 innings pitched.  <\/span>The righty     <\/span>had an opposing average of .248 with 21 appearances.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"I am very excited to join the Waterloo Bucks,” said Putz.  <\/span>“I look forward to getting started and can’t wait to get to work."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Putz attended Marshalltown<\/st1:placename> Community College<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> for two years from 2008-2009 and had a combined 8-8 record in 94 innings pitched with 108 strikeouts.   <\/span>As a batter, he hit .340 with three homeruns and 36 RBI in the 2008 season.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Born September 18, 1988, Luke is the son of Albert and Sherry Putz. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
