After last night’s invigorating win, the Waterloo Bucks (6-4) rolled into Madison feeling pretty confident. The Bucks built an early two-run lead on the Madison Mallards (4-4), but were unable to maintain it. The Mallards came from behind and stole an 8-5 win over the visiting Waterloo Bucks.<\/div>\n
Bucks’ starter Steven Richardson (2-0) walked away with the loss after making his second start of the season. Richardson allowed three runs and 11 hits in five innings on the mound before being replaced with reserve pitcher Greg Williams in the sixth inning. Williams allowed five runs and six hits in a little over an inning on the mound for the Bucks before handing the reins to Matt Grabowski. Grabowski finished out the game by striking out one batter and holding the Mallards to zero hits or runs during his time as pitcher. Mallards’ starter Ryan Torgerson (2-0) got credit for tonight’s win, and Madison’s closer, Kyle Stewart, was credited with the save.<\/div>\n
On offense, the Bucks only managed to record six hits, three of which came from RF Phil Keppler. CF Landon Anderson, 1B Jake Astor, and SS Chase Jaramillo all had one hit on the night, but it was Keppler who tried to carry the team offensively. Jaramillo also had two RBIs in the game.<\/div>\n
The Bucks managed to turn two double plays on defense. The also had two errors which is a step in the wrong direction compared to last night’s zero errors.<\/div>\n
