The Waterloo Bucks (5-13, 24-29) came into Saturday night’s game hungry for revenge against the visiting Green Bay Bullfrogs (11-8, 29-24) and came out of it with empty stomachs. The Bullfrogs exploded on offense for eleven hits resulting in a 12-3 home loss for the Bucks.<\/div>\n
Starting pitcher Brad Watson (0-1) walked away from his Northwoods League debut with a loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits. Watson survived four innings on the mound, striking out four Bullfrogs, before he was replaced by Bucks relief pitcher Will Strack in the top of the fifth inning. Reserve pitchers Mitch Moorman (0-1) and Steven Richardson (0-3) also saw time on the mound for Waterloo. Green Bay’s starting pitcher Tim Shibuya (3-1) earned the win after holding the Bucks scoreless for nearly the first six innings of the game.<\/div>\n
The Bucks simply couldn’t keep up with the Bullfrogs on offense. 1B Jake Astor (pictured) contributed one RBI and two walks for the Bucks on a one-for-two night at the plate. DH Ryan Rieger and C Jonathan Crist also recorded one RBI apiece for Waterloo, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to Green Bay.<\/div>\n

The Bucks and Bullfrogs will finish out their three-game series on Sunday afternoon at Riverfront Stadium. Gates are set to open at 2:05 P.M. with the first pitch scheduled for 3:05 P.M. All-Star pitcher Taylor Massey (4-2) will make the start for Waterloo against Green Bay’s starter, Joel Delorit (3-3).
