The Bucks’ game against the La Crosse Loggers on August 3 was close, but close just isn’t always enough.  Starting strong the Bucks took the lead in the first three innings but couldn’t stop the Loggers from regaining the lead.  The Bucks fell short with a final score of 5-4.<\/p>\n

Strong bats were definitely on the Bucks’ side.  1B Ryan Rieger and 3B Brandon Williams each recorded their tenth double,  C Jonathan Crist pounded out his first triple and LF Pat stover (pictured) smashed his fourth homerun of the season, knocking in two runs.  Other Bucks to get hits were DH Jake Astor and SS Andrew Ewing.  With bats rattling, four Bucks took RBIs, 1B Ryan Rieger, LF Pat stover (2), 3B Brandon Williams and SS Andrew Ewing but nine runners were left stranded on the bases.<\/p>\n

Corey Witkowski, Bucks’ starting pitcher, threw for six innings, giving up eight hits and struck out two keeping the Loggers at only two earned runs.  Reliever, Matt Grabowski, took control of the mound giving up one hit but allowing three runs to score.  Closer Luke Putz shut down the Loggers allowing one hit and striking out one.  Loggers Trent Fuller received the win and Bucks’ Matt Grabowski was given the loss.<\/p>\n

Bucks finish their series in La Crosse Wednesday, August 4 and will return home on Thursday, August 5 to take on Battle Creek in a double header.  The double header will feature two seven-inning games.  Gates will open at 4:30 P.M. and the first game is scheduled to start at 5:35 P.M.  At the completion of the first game, there will be a forty-five minute break before the second game goes underway.  <\/p>\n
