This week we are catching up with former Waterloo Bucks pitcher Dan Jennings. The Florida Marlins drafted the Berkeley, CA <\/span><\/span><\/span> native in the 9th<\/sup> round of the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft. Since being drafted, Jennings has been working his way through Florida’s minor league system, seeing action at their double-A level club the Jacksonville Suns.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In 2009 Jennings appeared in a total of 45 games for the single A affiliates; Greensboro and Jupitor. Jennings then made the jump to double A with the Jacksonville Suns.  Jennings  appeared in 62.2 innings finishing with a 1-2 record with an impressive 2.15 ERA.  Jennings had 69 strikeouts and only walked 24 batters while holding opposing batters to a .221 average.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This past year Jennings appeared in 37 games for the Jacksonville Suns where he pitched a total of 52.2 innings while collecting a 4-2 record with an impressive 2.53 ERA.  Jennings struck out 44 batters while only walking 26 and holding batters to a .253 batting average.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Jennigns played for Waterloo in 2006-07 where he appeared in 33 games for the Bucks. During his time with the Bucks, Jennings pitched 125.1 innings and collecting a 6-7 record with a 2.58 ERA.  Jennings struck out 99 batters while walking 51 and holding batters to a .255 batting average.<\/p>\n
