This week we are catching up with former Waterloo Bucks catcher Jeff Lanning.  The Minnesota Twins drafted <\/span>the Ankeny, Iowa <\/span><\/span>native in the 8th round number 246 overall of the 208 Amateur draft.
\n<\/span>
\nIn 2008 Lanning played in Elizabethton of the Rookie League, during his time there Lanning played in a total of 30 games.  During that time had a batting average of .255 while driving in 21 RBIs and hitting 4 home runs.  In 2009 Lanning moved up to A ball and played for the Beloit Snappers, during his time with the Snappers Lanning played in 52 games collecting a batting average of .250, 17 RBIs and hitting 2 home runs.<\/p>\n

Moving into the 2010 season Lanning saw a change of scenery as he was picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies through a trade.  This season Lanning would start with the Williamsport Crosscutters of the A league, during this time he would bat .264 with 30 RBIs and 8 home runs.  After his stint in Williamsport he would then be called up to the Advanced A League with the Clearwater Threshers.  During his time in Clearwater Lanning would play in 4 games batting .164 with 2 doubles.<\/p>\n

Lanning played for Waterloo in 2006-07 where he played in 86 games, during his time with the Bucks Jeff had a batting average of .286, hitting 15 doubles, hitting 4 home runs and driving in 38 RBIs.<\/p>\n
