 Catching up With Former Waterloo Buck Ryan Knox. <\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nRyan Knox played during the 1998 season with the Waterloo Bucks as an outfielder.  Ryan grew up in Peoria, Illinois and played college ball for Illinois State University. Ryan stands 6’0" and weighs in at 185lbs.

\nRyan had a really solid season with the Bucks in ’98.  He had a staggering 0.333 batting average in the 46 games he made an appearance.  In the 46 games, he had 49 hits in 147 at-bats with 5 doubles, 2 home runs, 19 runs batted in, 25 stolen bases, 25 strike outs and 15 walks.  <\/p>\n

After posting high numbers with the Bucks, Ryan went on to get drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1999 draft (round 24, #724).  Before being drafted by the Brewers in 1999, Ryan had initially been drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1998 draft (round 20, #593) but didn’t reach an agreement with the Rangers and did not sign.  Ryan managed to get a contract signed with the Brewers quickly after being selected.<\/p>\n

\nRyan was in the Milwaukee Brewers’ system for roughly his entire career, except for one season with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays’ system in 2006.  He had strong numbers in the minors, reaching triple A multiple times through his career.  He played in 789 games and had a 0.265 batting average with a 0.334 on-base percentage.  Ryan had a staggering 2,759 at-bats with 731 hits, 139 doubles, 18 triples, 28 home runs, 218 runs batted in, 254 stolen bases, 504 strike outs and 243 walks.  <\/p>\n

Ryan hung up the cleats after his 2006 season with the Montgomery Biscuits (AA) and Durham Bulls (AAA).  He currently has an Assistant Coaching position for the Heartland Hawks (Community College) in Normal, Illinois. <\/p>\n
