Kyle Haines played for the Waterloo Bucks in the year 2002 and year 2003.  Kyle was primarily platooned at short stop and second base, but made an appearance as a pitcher in the 2002 season (believe it or not).  Kyle grew up in Olney, Illinois and played for North Clay High School in Louisville, IL before going to college at Olney Central College and then Eastern Illinois University.  Kyle stands 6’1", weighs in at 170 lbs, and bats\/throws right handed.

\nKyle had some pretty good stats while he played for the Bucks.  He had a .293 batting average with 76 hits in 261 at bats.  Kyle played 79 games and had 11 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 39 runs batted in, 41 strike outs, and 26 walks while swiping 21 bags. In his only appearance as a pitcher, he got a loss with a 13.5 ERA, in .2 innings pitched. To be fair, he had only obtained 1 earned run during his .2 innings that he pitched, only giving up one hit and two walks. <\/p>\n

After his time with the Waterloo Bucks and Eastern Illinois, Kyle was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2004 amateur draft (round 31, #940).  Kyle has played 8 seasons since being drafted, and had reached the double A twice in his career.

\nLast year, Kyle played 70 games for the Gary Southshore Railcats and had a .309 batting average with 75 hits, 15 doubles, 1 home run, 24 runs batted in, 4 stolen bases, 37 strike outs and 38 walks. <\/p>\n

\nIn his total minor league career, Kyle has played in 366 games with a .267 batting average.  He had a total of 311 hits, 53 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, 123 runs batted in, 24 stolen bases, 176 strike outs, and 170 walks.  <\/p>\n

Watch for Kyle if he continues his career while playing for the Gary Southshore Railcats in the 2012 season.  We here at the Waterloo Bucks wish him the best in his future endeavors and hopes he can make an appearance in the big leagues.<\/p>\n
