Catching up with former Buck Andy Dickinson.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andy Dickinson played for the Waterloo Bucks during the 1999, 2000, and 2001 seasons. Andy was raised in Freeport, Illinois and went to Freeport High School before playing for the University of Illinois during his time with the Bucks.  Andy was a left handed Starting Pitcher that stood 6’2" and weighed 170lbs.

\nAndy’s college stats were incredibly strong with the Figthing Illini.  His overall win record was 30-7 with a 3.59 ERA and won the "Big Ten Conference Player of the Year" in 2001.  While playing for the Bucks for three seasons, Andy posted an overall record of 10-10 in 39 games pitched.  In 214 innings pitched, Andy had a 3.19 ERA, 166 strike outs, 57 walks, and 2 saves. <\/p>\n

Andy was drafted by the Oakland Athletics (28th round, #848 overall) in the 2002 Amateur Draft.  Andy played his first year in the single A and posted an overall 9-1 record with 36 game appearances. After posting a strong season, he was called up to the double A level and couldn’t find his rythym.  Andy had an 8-11 record while playing for the Midland RockHounds.   He played another season in the double A with Midland and had a 6-10 record.  <\/p>\n

After his time in the Oakland Athletics system, Andy played two season with an independent league with the Schaumburg Flyers (2007) and the Gary RailCats (2008) before he decided to hang up the glove.<\/p>\n

Overall, Andy had a 23-22 record in 100 games during his time with the minors.  He had a 4.51 ERA, 2 complete games, 2 saves, 236 strike outs, and 141 walks in 393 innings pitched.  He will always be recognized as a Waterloo Buck, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
