\n\\\"\\\"Catching up with former Buck Kyle Geiger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week, we’re catching up with former Waterloo Buck Kyle Geiger.  Kyle was born in Topeka, Kansas and played High School ball at Center Grove High School Indiana.  Geiger attended Rend Lake College during his time with the Bucks in 2002.  Primarily positioned as a Catcher, the 6’3" and 215lb right hander had a fun season while winning the Northwoods League title in 2002.  <\/p>\n

In his season with the Bucks, Kyle played in 37 games.  In those games, he had a .216 batting average with 24 hits and 3 doubles, 1 home run, 9 runs batted in, 3 walks, and a staggering 1 stolen base.<\/p>\n

After playing for the Bucks, Geiger was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2002 Amateur Draft (42nd round, #1262nd overall).  In his first season in the minors, Geiger played for the Elizabethton Twins of the rookie level. Throughout his career, he played for a few different teams but always managed to stay within the Twins farm system.  The highest level Geiger reached was the double A, with the New Britain Rock Cats in 2006.  <\/p>\n

Overall, Kyle played in 361 games with a .240 batting average.  In 297 hits, Geiger had 48 doubles, 3 triples, 15 home runs, 131 runs batted in, 88 walks, and 2 stolen bases.  In 2008, Geiger decided to hang up the mit and call it a career.<\/p>\n

We wish Kyle Geiger all the best, and he will always be remembered as a Waterloo Buck.  <\/p>\n
