Thunder Bay, ON – The Waterloo Bucks take Game Four and the series victory against the Thunder Bay Border Cats in a 4-2 win.<\/p>\n

Game Four started in a very similar fashion to Game Three, with a pitcher’s duel leading through much of the front part of the matchup. Bucks right-handed pitcher Ganon Archer went into the bottom of the fifth inning throwing a one-hit baseball. The same can be said about Border Cats starter Caleb Bunch went into the seventh inning throwing a no-hitter, but it didn’t last much longer.<\/p>\n

In the top of the seventh inning, the leadoff hitter Brennan Hudson hits a solo homerun and gets the first hit and run of the day for Waterloo tying the game at one even. A few batters later, outfielder Trenton Snyder reaches base on an error and his teammate Evan Morrison scores to give the Bucks the lead.<\/p>\n

Thunder Bay answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning to tie it back up at 2-2. That would be the final run of the day for the Border Cats.<\/p>\n

In the top of the ninth inning, the Bucks extended their lead with two insurance runs from an RBI single by the catcher Matt Martinez, who also scored the second run coming home on a wild pitch. Relief pitcher Chaney Trout would close out the game and give the Bucks sole possession of first place in the Great Plains East.<\/p>\n

Waterloo travels tomorrow to Copeland Park where they start a two-game series against the La Crosse Loggers, with the first pitch set for 6:35 PM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
