{"id":17260,"date":"2024-06-26T21:47:31","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T02:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/?p=17260"},"modified":"2024-06-26T21:47:31","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T02:47:31","slug":"bucks-split-home-and-home-series-with-honkers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/2024\/06\/26\/bucks-split-home-and-home-series-with-honkers\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucks Split Home-and-Home Series With Honkers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rochester, MN &#8211; The Waterloo Bucks started their five-game road stretch with the second game of a home-and-home against the Rochester Honkers and split the series after a game two loss by a score of 8-7.<\/p>\n<p>The scoring didn&#8217;t start until the fifth inning for each team for a pitchers duel between Bucks starter Ganon Archer and Honkers starter Gauge Lockhart. The Bucks scored three runs off of three hits and an error in the top of the fifth inning, the big two-run single coming from second baseman Evan Morrison. They even got one more run in the top of the sixth inning when third baseman Chase Beattier ripped an RBI single to left field.<\/p>\n<p>Waterloo held a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth when the Honkers put up an eight spot to take the lead.<\/p>\n<p>This lead didn&#8217;t diminish the Bucks&#8217; offense as they went on to score three more runs in the top of the eighth inning with help from Ian Halverson and a double from pinch hitter Larry Edwards Jr.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, it wasn&#8217;t enough to take game two of the series as the final home-and-home was split was each home team winning at their stadiums.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucks take the trip to Duluth, Minnesota to face the Huskies for a two-game series on Thursday, June 26th, and Friday, June 27th.
