Madison, WI – Kevin Kaczmarski led off the Home Run Derby by hitting five long balls and was able to advance to the second round.<\/p>\n

The other member of the North that advanced was Rochester’s Trevor Podratz with nine home runs. The two from the South that made it to the second round were Eau Claire’s Casey Gillaspie and Wisconsin Rapids’ Alex Bacon both with five home runs just like Kaz. <\/p>\n

The four that were eliminated after the first round included Mankato’s John Michael Twichell and Duluth’s Michael Suchy from the North and Madison’s Tyler Marincov and La Crosse’s Richard Prigatano from the South.<\/p>\n

Totals from the first round carried over to the next round. That is where the road would end though for the Evansville Purple Ace. Gillaspie hit three to give him a total of eight while Podratz hit four more to give him a total of 13. Those two advanced to the finals where Podratz defeated Gillaspie ten to six. Podratz’s 23 total home runs on the night went a total of nearly 23,000 feet, approximately. The highlight of Kaczmarski’s night was a 428 feet shot that left the stadium in the second round.<\/p>\n

The All-Star Game is slated to start at 7:35 p.m. with the Bucks being represented not only by Kaczmarski but three others. Those three are Sean Borman (St. Cloud State), Austin Barrett (Mercer) and Jordan Foley (Central Michigan). We will have a full story on how they do following the conclusion of the game.
